Hello guys, I just would know how to make a so fabulous taskbar... I falled in love with the Next Level VS, but the taskbar is so sad on my screen, don't know why but I really don't like the "bars" up and down... Your taskbar is all I could hope... My last hope to keep this perfect theme... So, please, master, tell me how to change the skin of this taskbar... Thanks a lot
PS: For sure I searched before asking you, but I'd really like to know how you do, what's the best way to create or modify skins.
you need a software (eg Restorator2007 / Resource Tuner) to edit the msstyle file and replace the taskbar image with the custom one I made that time. I'm not sure if I still have this taskbar image (this deviation is already 2 years old), but in case I can find it I'll drop you a note.

I have a similar problem with ProjectX visual style, there's bottom details pane, and i want to move that to the top like you did, i tried to edit shell32.dll file with restorator but i didn't succeed, can you create it for me?
when i toek onwership of the DLL shell32.dll then renamed it then pasted in the top shell style.dll thingy and then i restarted my computer and it said windows blah blah something about the libary of the SHELL32.DLL
but for some reason it was in caps instead of lowercase
The modified shell32 does not include the topshellstyle. It only manages to display the shellstyle (shellstyle.dll) on top of the window. So you need to replace two files: the shell32 & the shellstyle.dll
there are 3 dirs: "Shell32 for topshellstyle" "Shellstyle" "Vista SP1 shell32.dll" i copied the shellstyle to windows/resources/themes/theme/shell/normalcolor but i am unable to replace shell32.dll in system32 with your distributed vista-sp1 shell32.dll ... appreciate any help, thanks
before you are able to replace the original shell32.dll you need to take ownership of the file and rename it then. After this (pls make a backup) you can copy the patched shell32 to your system32 folder
Having a problem though, i've changed the shell32.dll to shell32.dll.original. I've then tried to paste shell32.dll into the folder, which it does, but i'm not seeing the file. I've got a feeling if i restart my computer with the file not there it's gonna feck up Vista. Any help would be appreciated.
Hi, i'm a complete noob so bear with me. I'm presuming topshell means the taskbar? Cause the taskbar on your screenshot is what i want. Haven't a clue how to apply it though. I'd appreciate some some instructions in layman terms. Thanks!!
It looks like a great shellstyle, but I am having a huge problem with it.
Unfortunately, after I logged out and then back in for the changes to take effect, I received an error message that said something like "cannot access toolbar". Now, my Start menu does work, nor do any of the links on my desktop go to my folders or hard drives. And anytime I go to open a window of some sort, it immediately closes, denying me access to my folders, files, and settings. I need to find a way top get back in to the folders, replace the shell32 file with the original that came with windows, and then restart the computer with it's original functionality.
Please let me know if you have any idea of how I can fix this. Until then, I am stuck with a pc that can basically do nothing and must use other computers until it is fixed.
